The Laser Spine Institute surgery center in St. Louis offers patients the convenience of an onsite MRI imaging suite. By designing our comprehensive medical facilities to deliver fully integrated service within the walls of each surgery center, we are able to provide a truly streamlined experience for our patients through which they can receive all aspects of their care.
An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan is an important tool that we will use in analyzing your symptoms and diagnosing your condition. To ensure the highest level of accuracy, your MRI should be recent, which generally means that it should have been taken within the last six months or when your symptoms last changed. If you need a new or updated MRI, our experienced technicians will guide you through the process – and you won’t even have to leave our St. Louis facility.
If you haven’t yet had an MRI, you should know that the procedure is simple and painless. You will be asked to lie still on a movable table that slowly slides into a channel where a strong magnetic field is created around you. Digital images will be saved and stored on a computer for later evaluation. The entire process usually takes 20 to 45 minutes. In many cases, an MRI scan can provide information, such as detailed images of soft tissues inside the body, that cannot be obtained through CT (computed tomography) scans, ultrasounds or X-rays.
Having access to state-of-the-art MRI technology helps the orthopedic experts at Laser Spine Institute to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care. Our St. Louis surgery center is fully furnished with the testing and imaging equipment that most patients require.
